The Department’s mission is the lawful and responsible management of the CySEC’s financial operations.
In general, the Department’s responsibilities include, among others, the preparation and implementation of the budget based on the principles of sound financial management (Principle of Economy, Efficiency, and Effectiveness), the monitoring of revenues and ensuring their timely collection, managing of the Public Tendering Procurement process, the processing of payroll, the management of equipment and building facilities, as well as the maintenance of the CySEC’s accounting books and records, including those of the Provident Fund and the Staff Welfare Fund.
Furthermore, the Department is responsible for organising examinations for the certification of professionals employed by Investment Firms, Credit Institutions, Management Companies and Variable Capital Investment Companies, and for maintaining the Public Registers of Certified Persons. In addition to examinations, the Department conducts continuing professional development seminars primarily addressed το certified persons.
Moreover, the Department works closely with the other departments of the CySEC, providing any financial information requested and contributing to strategic planning initiatives aimed at the optimal management of resources.
