Financial Support of The Cyprus Kidney Association
|
From March to August 2021, the members of The Cyprus Kidney Association launched an awareness campaign with the goal to financially enhance and support the Association, so it can effectively respond to its growing needs. Wishing to participate in this effort for the relief and support of the suffering, CySEC’s employees contributed by purchasing vouchers of the Association and by direct deposits of money in the Associations’ bank account.

Movember Cyprus
|
CySEC also supported Movember Cyprus, a charity which runs an awareness campaign on male cancer and men’s mental health every November, as well as on improving the quality of life of patients and their families. CySEC’s employees embraced the campaign, donating €271 through the purchase of memorabilia.

Blood Donation
|
The limited flow of blood donors, as a result of the pandemic, has created severe shortages on blood supplies. In response to the mounting blood scarcity CySEC took the initiative to organize a Blood Donation Day. For this purpose, a group of CySEC employees volunteered and a group blood donation was held at Engomi Blood Donation Centre.

CySEC Xmas Charity Online Bazaar
|
Our established CySEC Xmas Charity Bazaar, was once again held in December, aiming to relieve and support people in need. Due to the pandemic, for the second year in a row, the bazaar was held online.
As a result of CySEC employees’ large participation, the amount of €1062 was raised and distributed to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, The Little Heroes, One Dream One Wish, Christina A. Apostolou Foundation and Karaiskakio Foundation.

In December 2021, CySEC proceeded with the symbolic contribution of €50 through the purchase of Christmas lottery tickets of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, to support its goals and mission.

CySEC’s culture reinforced
|
In 2021, with the aim of improving productive cooperation among its employees and defining sound organizational principles and values, CySEC conducted a questionnaire-based survey, to uncover existing beliefs regarding the organization's culture. Following the findings of the survey, the entire CySEC personnel participated in a program aimed to reinforce the organization’s principles and values, to increase managerial and administrative skills, and to improve the overall working environment.

Digital transformation: CySEC becomes Paperless
|
To minimize the ecological footprint of the Organization through the reduction in the use of consumables, such as paper and ink, CySEC has in place since 2014, a modern Central Archiving and Document Management system. Under this technologically advanced system, documents created or received and/or archived by CySEC are entirely digital. Furthermore, CySEC adopted digital signature procedures to enable the easy and secure submission of documents and data by supervised entities. In this context, CySEC decided that all its publications, such as the Annual Reports and the Statistical Bulletins, will be available exclusively in digital form.

Recycling and Energy Saving
|
During 2021, CySEC continued its policy of recycling material that are used in big quantities, such as paper, plastic, batteries, contributing to energy saving and minimizing the use of raw material, as well as reducing the volume of waste and the impact on the environment.

Environmental Protection
|
It is notable to mention that CySEC follows all the proposed measures and instructions by the Energy Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, as well as the recommendations of Cyprus Energy Foundation. In this context, all tenders published by CySEC include special provisions related to environmental protection.
